Baronial Investiture

Details

Please join Unser Hafen on May 14th 2022 as Their Excellencies Aegeon & Miriam retire and are succeeded by Jarl Freana and Countess Richenda.

Pre-registration is limited to 130 people and if you would like a box lunch you must pre-register using this form. Parking is somewhat limited so please carpool if you are able.

NO stakes are allowed in the park; things like sand bags or buckets filled with water can be used and the water may be dumped onto the grass at the end of the day. Shades must be no larger than 10’ x 10’. If you do NOT use stakes you may bring shades.

Their Excellencies Aegeon & Miriam have a special request. If you received a token of their favor (likely a fibula or silk flower) and are able to locate yours, please bring/wear it to the event.

There will be a silent auction, details on who to contact and how to donate items will be forthcoming. We will also be offering a box lunch. Details on the lunches can be found below. Volunteers needed! Please sign up to help for an hour or two, there are lots of different jobs you can help with. You can see and sign up for volunteer opportunities via this spreadsheet.

Photo Shoot

Have you ever wished you could get your photograph taken in garb in a medieval type setting? Well, now is your chance! For a donation, photos will be taken of individuals or groups at Investiture. Donations will benefit the Unser Hafen general fund. Additional information and instruction can be found on the signup sheet. Reserve your space using this form.

Silent Auction

Well met, friends! I will be running a silent auction at investiture to benefit the barony. If you are interested in donating, please contact me via Facebook messenger (Nikki Wasinger) or email at nikki.wasinger@gmail.com. I will be accepting all sorts of goods such as garb, kitchenware, weapons, armor, crafting supplies, jewelry, books, medieval decorations, pottery, commissioned items, and more!

- Countess Kitta

Dirty Dozen Donation Derby

With the changing of the season Unser Hafen prepares to enter a new era! To welcome the incoming Baron and Baroness and prepare them for their many travels, I am honored to host a Dirty Dozen Donation Derby.

To participate:

  • Prepare 13 items that can be used for largesse.

  • Send notification to baroness.safiyya@unserhafen.org to ensure there is table space to display your work.

  • Label your work so recipients know who made their wonderful gifts!  Please include fiber content and ingredients as appropriate as allergies can be unforgiving.

Why a baker's dozen?  While the first 12 items will be ultimately donated to Baronial largesse, the extra item will be retained for a fun little artisan swap. Everyone who participates will get to take something home!

There will also be a Populace Choice competition for the largesse items on display, with an extra prize awarded to the winner!

Need largesse ideas? Items can be made, found or repurposed so long as they are also useful, durable and easily packed.

Games and dice sets - bags and pouches  - needle books - lucet cord and/or forks - tablet weaving cards - belts/garters - trim - mugs - napkin sets - salt/pepper/herb cellar - beads and necklaces - waxed linen - cup covers - veil pins

Thank you so much for helping to rebuild our Dream! I look forward to seeing your wonderful works!
