The “It is Not Baklava” Challenge
Baklava is sweet and delicious, but it is also the only Middle Eastern sweet that most of us know. The Baroness challenges all and sundry to bring your Best Medieval Middle Eastern Sweet that is NOT Baklava. The dish that most impresses Her Excellency will receive a gift of appreciation for expanding Her dessert experience.
Requirements:
-
It is NOT baklava.
-
Include written recipe, source, historical date of recipe and your name.
-
It is a sweet “dish” which includes pastries, puddings, syrups, jams, fruit pastes, candy etc. i.e. it must be sweet not savory.
-
You do not need to be present to be appreciated if a friend can take care of it for you.
